Archaeologists discover ancient jewelry of Southeast Asia.
Australian archaeologists have found ancient jewelry made of shells in South-East Asia age 42 thousands of years.
The humans spread across the planet from Africa, and it shows the age of the finds of jewelry: the most ancient found in Israel — they are about a hundred thousand years. Findings in Europe around 50 thousand years. Southeast Asia people settled around the same time, but jewelry of this period have not yet been found.
Previously it was believed that the first inhabitants of Southeast Asia were primitive ancient Europeans in technological development, but the findings of Australian scientists refute these assumptions. On the Eastern tip of the island of Timor, the archaeologists found beads from shells of mollusk of the genus Oliva with holes, which, according to scientists, could not have formed by themselves. Besides them in the cave found jewelry made of shells ordinary boat with traces of sanding and painting with red ochre. Findings 37 and 42 thousand, respectively.
According to scientists, ancient jewellery found in the region just now solely due to the low intensity of excavation. The researchers believe that further searches will yield many interesting discoveries.
