Experts told what foods make us lazy

The first sign of an excess of carbohydrates in the diet is feeling of tiredness, laziness some time after eating. However, in this study it was proved the act and other components of an unhealthy diet: excess consumption of saturated fats and refined foods.

While this pilot study was conducted only on animals. They were split into 2 groups: the first received a balanced diet of the “right” foods rich in fiber, polyunsaturated fats, complex carbohydrates; the second group ate only harmful refined food with high sugar content.

After 3 months there were obvious changes in body weight of animals, but also in their behavior. Animals from the first group were much more active, fast and faithfully performed the assigned tasks. In the second group of subjects is much worse coped with the tasks, was lazy and clumsy, which undoubtedly contributed to their accumulated weight.

After 6 months the animals for 9 days was transferred to the opposite diet, but this has not helped to change parameters of their weight or activity: participants in the second group and left full and lazy, and the animals of the first group – active without extra pounds.
