Experts have called the most effective diet

People trying to lose weight, is often recommended to reduce fat intake. A new study has shown that low-carbohydrate diet has more benefits than a diet low in fat content. Scientists from the Research Institute of children’s hospital of Toronto say that all programs weight loss effective but low-carb diet helps to get rid of extra pounds faster.

The researchers conducted a meta-analysis of data 50 clinical trials involving 7,300 people. The primary objective was to evaluate the effectiveness of different diets. Participants were asked to choose one of 11 popular diets, including the Atkins diet, Ornish, rosemary Conley, Jenny Craig and others, and to stick to it for three months or more. Every diet has helped volunteers to lose weight. However, scientists noticed small differences.

Low-carb diet and a diet low in fat resulted in greater weight loss than others. People who follow a low-carb diet for 6 months lost about 8.5 pounds. Those who choose a diet low in fat, could lose a little more than 7 kilograms per year. The weight of the volunteers who adhered to diets that did not require counting the number of consumed carbohydrates and fats has declined by about 5.5 kilograms.

Scientists believe that no matter what diet a person chooses. The main thing – to adhere strictly to it. The researchers also recommend regular exercise. The combination of proper diet with exercise is the best way to get rid of extra pounds.
