The Prime Minister of Iraq has confirmed that Turkish troops were deployed without the sanction of the government.
Moscow. 16 Oct. INTERFAX.RU – Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that Iraq can not cope alone with the release of the IG (banned in Russia as a terrorist organization) of the city of Mosul, and the presence of Turkish forces in the nearby military camp – insurance against attacks on Turkey, reports Reuters.
Iraq opposed the presence of Turkish troops in camp on the country, they said that Turkey should not take part in the planned US assault on the city.
“We will not allow Mosul to remain under ISIS or any other terrorist organization. They say that the Central government of Iraq must approve our intervention, but the Iraqi Central government should first deal with their problems,” said Erdogan.
“Why did you let ISIS to enter Iraq? Why did you allow them to enter Mosul? They had almost reached Baghdad. Where all this time was the Central government of Iraq?” he said live on television.
The Prime Minister of Iraq Haider al-Abadi confirmed on Saturday that Turkish troops were deployed in Iraq without the sanction of the government.
