Galaxy NGC 1222 is in the process of absorption of two of his neighbors.
Researchers using a telescope “Hubble” has received the lenticular galaxy NGC 1222, which stands out against other representatives of this class.

As the scientists, usually lenticular galaxies consist of old red stars, but NGC 1222 was seen an active process of star formation. Moreover, astronomers found that the galaxy consists of three separate parts, which together form its center.
According to researchers, NGC 1222 absorbed two smaller galaxies, and this process has not been completed so far. Probably, the collision was the cause of the galaxy’s clouds of gas from which new stars are formed.
