Currently, astronaut Jeff Williams is on the orbital station ISS, which publishes various pictures taken in space. This time he managed to capture shining in the Sun Sputnik Aurora. He also wrote that earlier never seen anything like this as to notice this celestial body is possible only once in several decades.
According to Williams, the glow of the Aurora becomes visible when the Sun takes a certain position in the system. Thanks to the light reflected from electrons and protons accumulating in orbit, its light has a blue tint, which gives a fabulous spectacle of color.
According to the American Center of the Northern lights, the bright lights of the Aurora can be seen on the Ground in a certain period. Due to the different refraction of light the satellite appears near the poles. It should not be confused with glowing traces of electrically charged particles from the Sun, which periodically enter the atmosphere. According to Williams, visually these processes are similar, but have dramatically different causes.
