Archaeologists have discovered an ancient tomb of a noble Viking

Archaeologists have discovered in Central Denmark on the Jutland Peninsula rare tomb of a Viking – “the house of the dead”, in which were buried two men and one woman from the upper strata of society.

Researchers have dated the tomb 950 a year. The tomb was built in the likeness of ancient churches, and its dimensions were 13 x 4 meters. In the tomb were buried a couple from the upper strata of society, and later it was buried another man.

In the tombs of the men were found battle-axes that served as the weapon of the people with high status, and in the tomb the women were found two keys, one of which testified to the high status of the owner, and the second was opened with a small quadrant cancer, which was also discovered in the tomb. Cancer was stored in glass beads, gold threads, fur and woolen cloth of high quality. Also in the burial were found two silver coins, made in Asia, on the territory of modern Afghanistan, and ceramic vase made in the Baltic States.
