The system, dubbed LMC P3, has become the brightest known to date, the second one, discovered with the help of “Fermi”, and the first outside of our galaxy. The system is located in the Large Magellanic cloud. The mass of the star, which is part of the system, 25 to 40 times the mass of the Sun.
The system includes either a neutron star or a black hole that emits x-ray radiation is active.
