Outdoor crossover will become a part of the family of Polo of new generation.
Volkswagen has patented the design of a compact crossover with a soft folding roof. The images published by the Spanish newspaper Motor.
It is expected that the SUV will be built on a modular chassis MQB. It should become part of the family of the sixth generation Polo, which will include hatchback, crossover and probably its open modification. The debut of the all terrain Polo will be held in 2018.
The prototype of the VW crossover with a soft top, called T-Cross Breeze, was presented in spring 2016 at the Geneva motor show. During the premiere of the concept car, the representatives of the German company stated that they “fully admit the appearance of such a production car”.
Volkswagen T-Cross Breeze is equipped with three-cylinder turbo engine working volume of one liter that develops 110 HP and 175 Nm of torque. The engine is combined with seven-step “robot” with two clutches. Front-wheel drive crossover is able to dial a “hundred” in 10.3 seconds and its top speed is 188 miles per hour.
