Valve has shared information about the upcoming patch shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. One of the key changes the update will be the introduction of a new system of connections to servers.

According to him the new Protocol, the relay will not directly connect the client to the server, but to talk to the other relay, automatically selecting the compound with the greatest speed.

The address of the connection will look different from the standard IP addresses that will make fans of DDoS attacks. If hackers decide to attack a server that plays the gamer, it will automatically switch to another relay in the middle of the game, which will lead to slight delays for a short time instead of a complete disconnection from the server. According to Dunn’s similar system works in Dota 2 has been for “about a year”.

The new Protocol is already introduced in the system as optional features. To enable it just type in console command “net_client_steamdatagram_enable_override 1” to connect to the game. The system should work in “most regions”.
