On the eve of the US Department of energy has provided a report on developments in global energy markets. Time period specialists bring very big: from now until 2040. According to their calculations, the cost of a barrel of oil in 2040 could reach 252 dollars.
Traditionally, it considered three scenarios: a positive scenario, negative and realistic. Studies were conducted taking into account possible decisions of the OPEC countries (oil exporters), countries exporting oil resources, and attention has been taken global demand for hydrocarbons.
According to the positive scenario, the price of a barrel of “black gold” will rise to 252 $ 2040. In the negative scenario, the resource price will not exceed $ 76. Realistic scenario assumes 141 USD per barrel.
Employees of the U.S. Department of energy, however, noted that the designated time consumption of electricity may increase by 1.5 times. The reason for this will be the rapid development of economy China, India and other Asian countries. With an annual increase in energy consumption of electricity by 1.4%, and by 2040 this figure will be 48%. The most significant consumption of electric power, not surprisingly, will be in China and India.
It is also noted that the greatest consumption of fuel will be based on industrial production. In addition, global consumers of electricity will remain the building and transport: they will have 21% and 26%, respectively.
