Nissan Leaf the most popular electric car in Ukraine.
According to the information-analytical group AUTO-Consulting, in 10 months of 2016 Ukraine has registered 189 new electric cars, which is two times more than for January-October 2015 (92 units).
Most popular electric car among Ukrainians became NissanLeaf – 109 units Is almost three times more than the year before. In second place was the TeslaModel S – 22 cars (-20%). Third place Bmw i3 – 20 units (10 times more than the previous year). Fourth place for Mercedes-Benz B-class – 18 units (last year this car did not buy). The five leaders completing VolkswagenGolf and TeslaModel X – 5 cars.
Ukrainian car market tries to keep up with the times on a par with Western countries, said General Director of AWT Bavaria (an official importer of BMW in Ukraine) Alexander Timofeev. The main reason of growth of sales is that new electric vehicles are often premium segment, which this year is growing by 100%, says senior analyst at Art Capital Oleksiy andriychenko. According to him, the electric car has also removed import duty of 10%. “But the effect of this is below”, – explains the analyst.
Sales growth was projected in early 2016, says the head of the company Alexander Kravtsov Electrocars. According to him, sales growth is associated with several factors. First of all, during this time has significantly developed infrastructure. “So to pay full price for a new car, or purchased for half that amount of “American” owned was an adequate solution,” he explains.
He also adds, if we are talking about a new electric car, popular NissanLeaf is worth more than $30 thousand, “And so is the choice of very loyal customers who chose this model,” – said the head of the company Electrocars.
Ukraine has great potential in the development of electric transport. According to Timofeev, today we have the possibility to deliver electricity in virtually any location. “So I have confidence that electric cars will be enough demand soon,” he says. Agrees with him and wife, and adds that the effect of premium segment next year will decline, as to a pending purchase will join more and more wide circles of the population. According to him, electric cars in the next year will bring even more. First, because the overall market will continue growth, rising purchasing power of the population, there is pent-up demand. Second, preparing new incentives for import of electric vehicles, can adopt the law on compensation of the VAT at purchase of electric vehicles. “That will give them the incentive to grow faster than the market” – explains the analyst.
