But experts say a large part of the yogurt, which now sold in stores has nothing to do with “classic” and really healthy fermented milk product.

According to experts, yogurt can only be called the product, which has two restoring microflora of bacteria: Lactobacillus bulgaricus (Bulgarian Bacillus) and Streptococcus thermophilus (thermophilic Streptococcus). But under the name “yogurt” sold products with such additives as sugar, thickeners, preservatives and the like.

A particular danger doctors see regular consumption of sweetened yogurt – mainly due to the fact that the sugar they add in excessive quantities.

The sugar content of yogurt is often up to three teaspoons per 100 grams, whereas the who considers acceptable to eat sugar no more than 6 teaspoons per day, experts say.

They recalled that the excessive consumption of sugar often occur unnoticed, leading to excess weight, and in extreme cases to the development of diabetes.

“Sweet and fatty yogurt, and even with the addition of fruit load on the body: pancreas is subjected to the bombardment of sugar, and vessels — the bombing of the milk fat,” explained the experts.

When selecting yogurt they recommended to stay with “classic” — without the sugar and artificial additives. Such products have generally a short shelf life, suggested nutritionists.

Experts also suggest to consider the number of carbs in yogurt — it should be less than 10 grams per 100 grams of product.
