The U.S. military will be preparing an operation to capture Mosul.
The US military has appealed to authorities with the request to direct to Iraq an additional 500 soldiers on the eve of a campaign to capture Mosul. About this newspaper the Wall Street Journal, citing American officials.
The second largest city in Iraq, Mosul and its surroundings were under the control of the terrorist group “Islamic state” in 2014. On September 21, the Iraqi military surrounded the city Shergat, located 100 kilometers South of Mosul.

If the White house approves the initiative, an additional group of the US military along with the military of Iraq and the international coalition forces in the fight against ISIS will carry out preparations for the operation to capture Mosul.
The operation to capture the town should begin in mid-October, said us officials.
