The Iraqi military managed to seize the state television building in Mosul.
Iraqi government troops went to the Eastern neighborhood of Mosul for the first time in more than two years.
According to General Sami al-Aridi, his troops went to Goggle until midday on 1 November and were just 800 metres from the more built-up district of Mosul Punishments.
He also added that the Islamic state militants who control Mosul, have erected walls to block access to Cars and set booby traps and bombs along the roads in the city.
In addition, the Iraqi military was able to seize the state television building in Mosul.
The Agency notes that this is the first important building in Mosul which was occupied by the troops for the first time since the onset.
