Scientists have discovered evidence that the Indus valley civilization has taken root, at least 8000 years ago, not 5,500 years.
The researchers found evidence that Harappan civilization existed for 1000 years before that.
Researchers believe that the Indus valley civilization covers the entire territory of India. It extends to the banks of the now lost Sarasvati river or river Ghaggar — Hakra (the information has not been studied enough, it is based only on the research of British scientists).
“The excavations we saw the preservation of all cultural levels right up to the Indus valley civilization (9000-8000 BC ). Because we classified them as early Harappan ( 8000-7000BC ), which passed to the Mature Harappan,” said Sarkar.
During the study of the Indus valley were able to check out previously unknown territory. During the excavations there were discovered the remains of animals — bones, teeth, horns, cows, goats, deer and antelopes, which were sent for laboratory tests. Such information has allowed to know the time and the climate in which civilization flourished.
Civilization Harappan witnessed large-scale de-urbanization, declining population, rejection of the established settlements. The study showed that the climate has begun to change 7000 years ago, but, surprisingly, civilization has not disappeared completely. The people of the Indus valley was very determined and continued to develop even in conditions of sharp change of weather conditions. People have changed their structure of cultivated cereals, with wheat and barley on Fig. People period to maturity of Harappan created households for processing and storage of grain, which subsequently acted as a catalyst for de-urbanization of civilization.
