Therefore it is better to abandon the familiar for viewing of chips, popcorn and French fries and replace them with scrambled eggs, hummus with vegetables, cottage cheese with fruit or best of all – cold watermelon or grapes. 2. Often press pause. Researchers from Australia say that people who are interrupted more often during sedentary work, or watching TV, have a smaller waist circumference. 5. Decrease the brightness of the screen. 6. Plan your “serial binges”. If you have a long weekend at home, it is better to plan in advance how many episodes you have to watch to be able to do some other things. If you firmly decide to only watch five episodes a day, it will still be better than if you spend all weekend, not looking up from the TV or computer.

7. Drink plenty of water. Better than a cold – it helps a little to speed up the metabolism. Soda and beer are not considered. By the way, copious drinking is another positive side effect – you’ll be more likely to go to the bathroom, which is also in some kind of physical activity and break.

8. Use a conventional TV screen. Strange but true: when we watch TV, our eyes easier than when we watch the show or movie with computers, tablets and phones. The catch is that the TV is usually far from the viewer, and it is less harmful to the eye.

9. Strain your brain. Make it a rule after each episode to solve some simple intellectual tasks-for example, crossword puzzles, play chess or read literature in foreign languages.

10. Don’t forget about sleep! Most people depend on TV shows, watching them at night, and often can’t go to sleep because “we need to watch another series”.
