Corporation Tesla Motors unveiled a solar panels integrated into the roofs of the houses, as well as a new model form of energy storage PowerWall 2.0.
“It’s kind of integrated future. Electric, PowerWall and solar panel in the roof. The key to success lies in the fact that they were beautiful, affordable and smoothly integrated”, – said the head of Tesla Motors Elon Musk, adding that the first roof-battery will be installed next year.
As noted, other panels of the new panel have a good appearance: they are not like the usual solar panels and must be installed on the entire roof surface. According to the developers, we are talking about the beginning of the production of roofs, the entire surface which will be a solid solar battery, not a set of solar modules. For the roof, there are four types of coverage: glass and slate tile, tile and textured glass.
The power of the new form of energy storage PowerWall 2.0 was doubled to 14 kW, and it has been less than its predecessors. The cost of the new PowerWall is 5.5 thousand dollars.
