The owner of a Tesla Model S Jared Overton Jared Overton told KSL News about how at the end of April 2016 found your car crashed into a trailer parked at the curb. The accident had smashed the windshield and scratched the roof of the electric vehicle.

Overton argues that parked Model S on the street just for a few minutes, and on arrival saw a nasty picture, and not understanding how the accident occurred.

The motorist appealed to Tesla. The company examined the transaction log executed by the electric car before the collision. The manufacturer stated that the cause of the accident was the activation of the Summon system (used for automatic check in the garage and out of it; see video below) after three seconds after the driver gets out of the car.

The owner says that never used this feature and also would have heard the shock in an accident at least 15-20 seconds after leaving the vehicle.

In turn, Tesla noted that in Summon mode the car is driving at speeds up to 1.06 miles (1.7 km) per hour, so he could start moving.

In addition, according to the statement released by Tesla, the Summon feature is still in beta stage, so the instruction manual, and in the car stated the recommendation is to control the movement of the machine in this mode. To stop self-driving Tesla Model S when entering or exiting the garage using the key FOB, mobile app or by pressing on any door handle.

The manufacturer draws attention to the fact that in autopilot mode the machine can not see narrow objects (e.g., bicycles), as well as items hanging from the ceiling and located below the instrument panel.
