Archaeologists working on the Dampier archipelago off the Northwest coast of Australia, have discovered traces of stone age houses in nine thousand years.
The stone foundations of circular shape were found on rosemary — one of the 42 Islands of the archipelago. According to scientists, the buildings were on the coast. When ended the last ice age, the sea level began to rise about ten meters every 5-10 years. Those who lived in these houses had to adapt to the new environment characterized by a shortage of habitable land.

A hundred miles to the West, on barrow island, the researchers found earlier traces of human activity, whose age is about 50 thousand years. Scientists plan to make their findings were included in the list of UNESCO world heritage site, which includes artificial or natural sites with cultural, historical or ecological value.
