Division of Samsung in the US announced a voluntary recall of 2.8 million washing machines with vertical loading due to concerns about possible injuries.
“Voluntary action was prompted by reports about the fact that there is risk of loss in these cars equilibrium the drum, entailing excessive vibration and eventually the separation of the cover from the washing machine,” explained Samsung in a statement published in the corporate blog.
According to the Commission on consumer product safety (US Consumer Product Safety Commission, CPSC), already registered 730 complaints and nine injuries because of a defect in washing machines of Samsung, including a broken jaw and shoulder injury.
The black bar at the Samsung continues. Only a few weeks have passed since the South Korean company has announced the recall of flammable phablet Galaxy Note 7, at which sales were high expectations.
The current review includes washing machines and dryers produced in the period from March 2011 to the present day. Full list of models can be found on the website of Samsung.
The company claims that this problem does not apply to models of washing machines and dryers offer outside of North America. Also, there is no problem in the machines with front loading.
Samsung offers to affected customers the option of repair at home or a discount of up to $150 to buy a new washing machine.
