NATO is trying to expand the sphere of stability.
Russia is demonstrating increasingly aggressive behavior towards its neighbors and the power of changing borders, said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
“The summit of NATO in Warsaw) will take place at a critical moment. We see an increasingly aggressive Russia, which intimidates its neighbors and changes of borders by force,” – said Stoltenberg at a briefing in Warsaw.
He stressed that NATO is responding to these challenges and is trying to implement measures to strengthen security on the continent, which are currently the most active since the end of the cold war.
Stoltenberg said that all NATO decisions are defensive in nature. “We are increasing our forward presence in the East, carry out the steps relative to the location of multinational forces on a rotational basis, as well as the location of warehouses of weapons in Poland. Thanks to this Alliance shows strength and stability,” he said.
Stoltenberg also noted that NATO is trying to expand the sphere of stability outside the organization, collaborating with partners in the East and South, and helping them to strengthen their defense capabilities. “If these countries will be stable, we will be safer,” he said.
The NATO summit held on 8-9 July in Warsaw.
