NATO Secretary General recognized the impossibility and undesirability of isolating Russia Alliance
Moscow. July 8. INTERFAX.RU – Isolation of Russia by NATO is impossible and undesirable, said Friday at a press conference NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
“Russia is impossible to isolate,” said NATO Secretary General during the Alliance’s summit in Warsaw.
“We don’t want a new cold war, we don’t want a new arms race, we are not seeking confrontation,” – said the Secretary General.
According to Stoltenberg, NATO, together with the strengthening of the deterrent and its defense continues to make “a constructive dialogue with Russia.”
He added that the Alliance leadership would later inform the Russian side about taken by the participants of the summit decisions at the next meeting of the NATO Council-Russia.
Cyberspace is recognized as a new area of action for NATO forces
The summit in Warsaw acknowledged that cyberspace is a new area for defence policy of the Alliance, said Friday at a press conference NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
“Today we also acknowledged the new operational cyberspace area along with land, air and sea,” said Stoltenberg.
According to him, NATO is on the defensive in cyberspace, however, the Alliance sends a clear signal about the strengthening of our collective defence in all areas.”
He added that the members of NATO agreed to strengthen their national efforts to ensure cyber security and to exchange information in this area.
Accommodation battalions of NATO in Poland and the Baltic States will begin in 2017
NATO will start placing battalions in Poland and the Baltic States in 2017, said the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
“Today we have taken the next steps: we decided to strengthen our military presence in the Eastern part of the Alliance. Four battalions in Poland and in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will be posted on a rotational basis,” he said at a press conference on Friday in Warsaw, where the NATO summit.

“The US is going to place a battalion, that is about a thousand American soldiers here in Poland, right next to the Polish soldiers,” said the US President in Warsaw after meeting with President of Poland Andrzej Duda.
