Pluto is a hybrid comet and a planet.
NASA experts have discovered using the data of the New Horizons mission Pluto the planet signs.
One such indication was a change in the direction of the solar wind in the form of charged particles when colliding with its atmosphere.
Astronomers say that modern science rushed in, striking out Pluto from among the planets of the Solar system. In a publication in the Geophysical Research specialists space Agency wrote that previously, scientists believed that the solar wind deviates from dwarf planets like comets. However, the new data of the New Horizons mission, resulting from the operation of the tool SWAP, suggests that the interaction of charged particles with the atmosphere on Pluto is not similar with comet or other Solar system planets.
According to the Professor of astrophysics at Princeton University David Mack-comas, Pluto has a unique interaction with the solar wind, which is not noticed anywhere in the Solar system. “So Pluto is a peculiar hybrid of comets and planets,” said Mack-komas.
