Physicists have managed to circumvent the law of Archimedes

Физики сумели обойти закон АрхимедаScientists were able to break the law of the great physicist.

French physicists have circumvented the law of Archimedes: they managed to trap an air bubble in the liquid, not allowing it to rise to the surface.

Previously, this same group of physicists have learned to control the formation of bubbles of oxygen and hydrogen (occurring in the electrolysis). It turned out that when the radius of curvature of the tip of the electrode in the range from one nanometer to one micrometer and at a certain amplitude and frequency, microbubbles appear at one point on the edge of nanoelectrode.

Then scientists found that immediately after the appearance of the bubble it is possible to “freeze”, sharply raising the current frequency. Then, even if moving the electrode in either direction, the bubble remains on top of him.

However, most physicists were struck by the fact that despite the seeming stability of the object, the molecules were in constant motion. At the tip of the electrode is continually formed molecules of hydrogen and oxygen, they were in a stationary vial through the bottom film and out through the top.

Control microbubbles, according to scientists, will be very useful for medicine — these objects will act as echocontrast drugs and help in dissolving blood clots.
