The group PSA Peugeot Citroen and Dongfeng Motor company has begun to develop a new platform that will form the basis of global electrical machinery. This is stated in the message of the French-Chinese Alliance Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile (DPCA).

The future of chassis for electric vehicles will be called e-CMP. It will be created on the basis of the modular architecture of the CMP (Common Modular Platform), the development of which PSA and Dongfeng have begun in the spring of 2015.

Platform e-CMP is designed for machines B and C-segments, which will be produced under the brands Peugeot, Citroen, and Dongfeng with DS 2019. Thus, the French will be to make electric cars, similar in size to the Peugeot 208, Citroen C3 and DS3 and the Peugeot 308, Citroen C4 and DS4.

Partners suggest that by 2020 the revenues of the Alliance DPCA will exceed 100 billion yuan (about 15.4 billion dollars).

Previously, the group PSA Peugeot Citroen has announced plans to develop 26 new passenger cars by 2021. The number will consist of seven hybrids with batteries be recharged from a household outlet, as well as four models with fully electric propulsion.
