Astronauts to the ISS after 2018 will deliver without the help of the Russian space Agency
NASA has no plans after 2018 to renew the contract with Roscosmos for the delivery of American astronauts to the International space station.
This was stated by Deputy head of NASA’s manned spaceflight William Gerstenmaier. “No, not planned”, – he said.
According to him, U.S. manned spacecraft, which NASA plans to deliver astronauts to the ISS, will be prepared as scheduled. It is expected that the first manned flight of the astronauts will be able to implement in 2017.
Earlier it was reported that NASA will allow private companies to connect the modules to the outside of the ISS. The Agency did not specify which companies have expressed interest in the project, but Bigelow Aerospace previously loudly announced his desire to connect habitable module to the ISS.
