NASA released amazing images of Pluto.
Updated black and white map of Pluto includes images of all sections of the dwarf planet.
NASA showed the new “sunken” heart of Pluto, the plain Companion to the characteristic shape. The Agency also unveiled a new map of the dwarf planet.
The plateau of the Satellite is formed by young and smooth with slabs of water ice, immersed in a more soft but dense landscape of nitrogen ice. NASA determined the depth of this dip with the help of stereo images taken station New Horizons July 14, 2015.
These images allowed us to measure the parallax change the apparent position of an object depending on the position of the observer. In the General case, the difference between the highest and lowest points in the picture is six kilometers.
Updated black-and-white global map of Pluto includes images of all sections of the dwarf planet, New Horizons is made in the period from 7 to 14 July 2015. All pictures should be sent to the Ground by early autumn.
