Named a new and effective way to reduce the risk of cancer

The doctors came to the conclusion that eating nuts three times in a week on a regular basis is effective against colorectal cancer in both men and women.

The authors of the new study confirmed the anti-cancer effect, regular consumption of nuts, were employees of the Medical College at Seoul National University. They said that habit from time to time to eat nuts not only helps to reduce the risk of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, but also reduces the risk of colon cancer.

“To reduce the risk of developing this disease, enough to eat 15 g of nuts at least three times a week” – quoted by the Korean publication authors of this work.

Doctors studied the health status of nearly 3 thousand people. From 923 individuals were diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and 1846 of the participants were healthy. The researchers set a task to find out which components of the diet of people could have protective properties against this disease. They found that men who consumed nuts at least three times a week, and 69% less likely to have been ill with colorectal cancer, while among women the figure was even more impressive – it was reduced by 81%.

According to the authors of the project, often observed their study participants ate peanuts, although one can argue that it is this kind of nuts are more helpful than others. Scientists assume that any nuts are able to exert a protective effect against cancer, but recognized that this hypothesis still requires confirmation.
