More than 50 years, Maria Zlatich from Serbia did not receive from her husband any news. She lived an elderly woman of $ 100 in a month, whiling away his days in a small cabin in the woods. But one day her humble and peaceful life was disturbed one seemingly unthinkable news. The beginning of this story was laid in 1956.
Maria and momčilo Zlatich went to Australia very young. He worked as a carpenter and she worked the farm, taking the small farm. Life seemed like a fairy tale.
Anyway, after 18 months, Maria found out that her mother is very sick. The young woman decided to return to Serbia. Saying goodbye to her husband on the pier, she was unaware that she sees him one last time.
Maria took care of her dying mother until the end. But there is a woman waiting for a new trial: for unexplained reasons, to return to Australia to momčilo she could no longer. Each week the couple wrote letters to each other, trying to somehow brighten up the pain of separation. Every day Mary ran to the mailbox to get a new message from a loved one. But a few years later the letters started coming less and less. Once opening an empty mailbox, she realized that it no longer receives from her husband’s news from Australia. The distance was too difficult a test for the young pair.
The years of silence gave way to decades. Maria lived alone in a small cabin in the woods. Old age, she never ceased to receive assistance from close friends and neighbors. All who knew Mary, spoke of her as an unusual person, able to help people and to awaken in them all the best.
Gradually to the elderly women began to hear rumors about her husband. Said he got rich, doing farm business, married for the second time. With the help of his friends, versed in the Internet, Maria was convinced that it was true.
Maria never connected his life with anyone and refused to believe that her husband forgot about her, although friends insisted otherwise. Momčilo died in 2011. Mourning the love of her life, Maria did not know what surprise awaits her.
It turned out that ex-husband left her a legacy of $ 670,000. One night an elderly woman became a millionaire – her inheritance was equal to 7 million Serbian dinars. Handling of formalities and execution of documents took 4 years, and then Maria surprised everyone with her plans for the inheritance. All without the rest of the state, she gave to the families of their friends and neighbors, who for many years selflessly helped her, skrashivaya alone. “I don’t need all that money,” says Maria. – I just need water, bread and a bit of firewood for the winter.
