Moldova has sent Russia a note of protest

Moldova has handed Russia a note of protest, which called on the Kremlin to stop the illegal recruitment of Moldovan citizens in the ranks of the Russian army.

The corresponding document of the Ministry of foreign Affairs and European integration presented the Russian Embassy in Chisinau.

The note emphasizes that the previously recorded facts of recruitment of citizens in the village of Ternovka, Slobozia district (territory of the Transnistrian region), as well as other similar cases are contrary to Moldovan legislation, norms and principles of international law and the provisions of the Treaty on friendship and cooperation between Moldova and the Russian Federation.

Chisinau also recalled its position regarding the necessity of withdrawing Russian troops and weapons from the territory of the Republic, and to replace the peacekeeping contingent in the security Zone on the Dniester is an international mission of civilian observers under the auspices of international organizations.

It is noted that in the Transnistrian region stationed the Operational group of Russian forces numbering more than 1.5 thousand soldiers.
