Alexei Pushkov, the head of the Duma Committee on international Affairs, has published in his blog on Twitter a comment about a doping scandal.
According to him, “doping will soon declare any drugs, except those that accept U.S. athletes. And then only they will be on pedestals”.
The doping scandal involving Russian athletes has erupted because of the ban of the preparation Meldonium. To date, 99 people had been suspended from participation in sports activities due to the presence of a prohibited drug in the blood.
Meldonium is a metabolic tool that normalizes energy metabolism of cells exposed to hypoxia or ischemia. In the 70’s the drug was synthesized Latvian scientists, and in 1976 has received a license. From 1 January 2016 the World anti-doping Agency (WADA) introduced the drug to the list of prohibited substances.
Interesting is the fact that the Creator of Meldonium, Ivars kalvinš, does not consider the substance doping, noting that the drug protects the heart from stress. The Latvian already made the following statement: “I Think that a ban on the use of the drug by athletes is a violation of human rights”.
Western countries led by America openly used the WADA in their interests. Anti-doping Agency lists of prohibited substances are those drugs that athletes use for the past several years. These medications do not give sporting advantages, they are used only for the treatment and prevention of serious occupational diseases, which often occur in people with such big loads.
It’s no secret that the World anti-doping Agency worked with American pharmaceutical companies, and after the ban substances the US is fully capable to create a drug with similar functions.
Much of the feedback anti-doping scandal, especially on the eve of the 2016 Olympics in Brazil, will help the West again to blacken Russia’s reputation. Increasingly, non-political spheres are an arena for the clarification of disputes between countries, and international sport is becoming politicized, and the persecution of Russia are continuing.
