Social network “Vkontakte” no plans to introduce a fee for listening to music in regular mobile applications and browser-based version of the site, said company spokesman Yevgeny Krasnikov.

“VKontakte” no plans to introduce a fee for listening to the audio in their native mobile apps and on the desktop,” said Krasnikov.

“We will test different monetization opportunities in collaboration with our partners-the major studios and the United Music Agency (UMA)”, – he explained, having refused to disclose the specific terms of cooperation.
“It is important to note that for our users these conditions include freedom of access to all audio and video content in the social network,” – said the representative of “Vkontakte”.

In a Wednesday newspaper “Izvestia” wrote that in “Vkontakte” there will be new premium features for listening to audio, the very same section of music to be completely rethought.

15 Jul Mail.Ru Group signed with UMA and Universal Music Group (UMG), the agreement on licensing audio and video content for use on online platforms of the Russian company. In accordance with the agreement the group has obtained partnership agreements with three major international rights holders music production – UMG, Warner Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment. The agreements provide access to users of social networks “Vkontakte”, “Classmates” and “My world” to license content world’s leading record companies, explained then Mail.ru Group.
