CD Projekt RED has not yet abandoned The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
CD Projekt RED officially announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Game of the Year Edition, which will include the game and all of the issued for additions and updates.
Looks like CD Projekt RED haven’t thrown The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and is going to release an adventure of Geralt again. This time in the “game of the year”.

While it is unclear what exactly will be included in the kit. But I think a minimal set of games and all the add-ons is guaranteed. And knowing the past exploits of CD Projekt RED, we can assume that along with the Game of the Year Edition basic The Witcher 3 will get some nice heavy patch.
However, it is better to wait for the official announcement with all the details.
