In the Federation Council doubt the correctness of the sale of state assets of “Rosneft” and “Bashneft”, noting that one should not “sell the goose that lays the Golden eggs,” said RIA Novosti first Deputy head of the economic Committee of Council of Federation Sergey Kalashnikov.
First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov recently stated that authorities should immediately begin the preparation of the sale of 50.08% of “Bashneft” and 19.5% of “Rosneft”. In addition, Rosneft allowed the privatization of “Bashneft”.
“It defeats the purpose, if one state-owned company to privatize another state-owned company,” said Kalashnikov Agency on Saturday.
According to him, at the head of this decision is the desire to replenish the budget, and it’s like patching holes, when one-off solutions trying to close a serious problem.”
Speaking about the upcoming sales of shares of “Rosneft” and “Bashneft”, Kalashnikov admitted that his “torment of doubt, in some private hands will get these assets.”
He stressed that state-owned companies in the sphere of extraction and processing of resources — “this is the goose that lays the Golden eggs” and we must think carefully whether to sell these assets.
