Dozens, and possibly hundreds of thousands of South Koreans took to the streets of Seoul on Saturday to demand the resignation of President Park Geun-Hye
This is the last and most powerful wave of mass demonstrations against Park Geun-Hye in connection with the corruption scandal that continues in the country, around the confidants of the President.
Police are awaiting the arrival of about 170 000 people in the city hall and the gate of the old Palace, while according to the forecasts of organizers of a protest March in the rally can participate up to a million people. In this case, the protest will be the largest since the beginning of the 21st century.
Despite rising public discontent, the opposition parties must seriously seek the resignation or impeachment of the President in respect of concerns of the negative impact on the presidential race next year.
As reported, in an attempt to stabilize the situation, Park Geun-Hye said Tuesday that it is willing to appoint as Prime Minister the candidate of the opposition. But opposition parties emphasize that her words are meaningless without specific promises about the transfer of the greater part of his presidential powers to the new Prime Minister.
