In Qatar, a Dutch tourist was sentenced because she was raped

The court of Qatar has sentenced a citizen of the Netherlands Laura (surname not known) to a year of probation and fined $ 800.

However, Laura on advice of counsel refused such a step. According to AFP, the man, the suspect in the rape, was also convicted and sentenced to a punishment of 100 lashes for extramarital sex and 40 lashes for alcohol consumption.
