Archaeological excavations on a plot of more than 2600 square meters was completed in the city centre on pärnu road opposite the intersection with the street, Roosikrantsi (Roosikrantsi).

“We found here a medieval canal, through which water was supplied from lake Ulemiste. Average citizen of Tallinn in the middle ages it was supplied with drinking water. The canal was built in the XIV century. It is known that in 1345 the Queen of Denmark gave the order to build it,” – said the head of archaeological works, the Rivo Bernotas.

Now at the site you can see the 26-metre fragment of a water utility, as well as fragments of the foundations and basement slabs of the buildings built in the XIX century. Another amazing find of the archaeologists was a well-preserved, with timber walls.
At the site the archaeologists were able to find the traces of activity of ancient man.
