“Hubble” has received the planetary nebula.
Scientists using a telescope “Hubble” has received the planetary nebula NGC 2440, which was formed as a result of the explosion of a star similar to the Sun.
The nebula was published on the NASA website.
In the centre of the nebula is one of the hottest known white dwarfs – its surface temperature reaches 200 thousand degrees Celsius. The chaotic structure of the nebula suggests that the star threw off their outer shells randomly. During explosions, the star ejected material in different directions.
The nebula is four thousand light-years from Earth near the constellation of the Stern.
