One of the principal investigators of the American psychological Association (APA) and activist for the rights of lesbian acknowledged that homosexuals “aren’t born”. Dr. Lisa diamond (Lisa Diamond), chief co-editor of the Journal of sexuality and psychology APA and one of the “most respected members” of the Association has stated that sexual orientation is “changeable” and not permanent.
Dr. Laura A. Haynes (Laura A. Haynes), a clinical psychologist, summarized chapters, written by diamond in the journal, her book and lectures on YouTube in the following way: “the Battle to disprove the statement that “gays are born that way and can not change” are now completed, and (diamond) tells LGBT activists to stop promoting this myth”.
In contrast to the typical argument that homosexuals are “born gay” including “as is” and cannot be changed, the APA officially acknowledged the variability of sexual orientation in 2011.
Diamond summed up the results (download in PDF) related to this issue research in the course of lectures at Cornell University (Cornell University), stating that a large number of studies has now established that sexual orientation, including sexual attraction, behavior and self-determination is changeable characteristic of teenagers and adults of both sexes.
This is completely contrary to the recent laws promoted by gay activists and adopted in several US States banning “restorative therapy” to help patients who feel unwanted same-sex attraction to change.
The justification of laws against regenerative therapy is that any man experiencing same-sex attraction, not just homosexual born a homosexual, but his/her homosexual orientation unchanged, therefore, apply “vosstanovitelniy therapy” to such people not only useless, but also cruel. As stated in their statement: “you Cannot change who you are.”
In addition, many LGBT activists called sexual orientation “a human rights issue of our time”, the same race. However, diamond and APA refute this argument.
