Hereditary Prime Minister

Потомственный премьер

Supporters Shinzo Abe see him as a man hatched plans to revise the postwar order.

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe hold a meeting in Sochi. Earlier it was reported that the talks are planned to discuss the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in trade-economic and humanitarian fields, and exchange views on topical international issues.

Hereditary policy of Shinzo Abe not only managed to become the youngest Prime Minister of Japan, but also to occupy the post twice.

He was born on 21 September 1954 in Nagato, Yamaguchi and soon moved to Tokyo. Grew up surrounded by politicians of the first magnitude. His maternal grandfather was once Prime Minister of Japan, and his father was a foreign Minister in the years 1982-1986 and would head the government, if not premature death.

Shintaro Abe, in turn, was the adopted son of Nobusuke Kishi (1896-1987), who served in the war, Minister of trade and industry and responsible for the economy of the puppet state Manchukuo. At the beginning of the American occupation Kishi was arrested among other war criminals. He was charged with slave labor of tens of thousands of Chinese, many of whom died. However, in December 1948, he, along with 19 other accused, was released from prison for lack of evidence”. Kishi subsequently had a distinguished political career, becoming Prime Minister (1957-1960).

In 1977, Abe graduated from the law, seikei University, where he studied political science, after which he departed to the United States. But his studies at the University of southern California eventually gave up, returned home and began work at a steel company Kobe Steel.

Political ascent Abe began in 1982. he Changed several gosdolzhnosti. On 20 September 2006 he was elected Chairman of the ruling Liberal democratic party.

The Parliament approved Abe as Prime Minister on 26 September 2006. Thus, in 52 years, he became the youngest head of government in the history of Japan. But after a series of corruption scandals in his Cabinet, 12 September 2007, Abe resigned.

Leading leading to LDPE faction, he managed to convince the party members in the vitality of their initiatives to bring the country out of the corruption of the impasse that has allowed the liberal Democrats to re-take the leadership of Japan in their hands, when the position of the ruling Democratic party was shaken. Under Abe, LDPE won the parliamentary elections the convincing victory, having received twice as many seats in the House of representatives compared to the result of the previous campaign. It is possible to form the new government.

September 26, 2012, Shinzo Abe became head of LDPE and 26 December of the same year was appointed by the Prime Minister. This victory of the party dispelled the myth Shinzo Abe as a politician with a lack of administrative experience and not having the necessary authority to achieve their goals. The leading Japanese newspaper “Sankey Simbun wrote then: “the Liberal democratic party, headed by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe won a landslide victory in elections to the upper house, so that intensified the perception that Abe’s government will remain stable in the long term”.

The leader of the country took up the revival of the stagnant economy, spending several unusual policies, received its own name – abenomics.

He then announced a five-year plan of military expansion. The program “pre-emptive pacifism” was designed to make Japan a more “normal” country, able to defend themselves.

For some defuse regional tensions triggered by Pyongyang, Abe, in words, rejected the idea of Japan becoming a nuclear power. However, he advocates increasing the military power of the country, including for the revision of the “pacifist” Constitution of 1947, and for further military rapprochement with the United States, possibly nuclear.
Shinzo Abe belongs to the idea of “the denial of justice provisions of the Tokyo Tribunal 1948, which could become a new trend in historical education of the younger generation. Emphasizing respect for the martial history of the country and the heroism of its soldiers, although their exploits often coexist with crimes in the occupied territories, Abe regularly (though secret) visits the Yasukuni Shrine, where the Shinto believe that the souls of the Japanese soldiers, not paying attention to the protests of China and South Korea. The fact that the neighbors of the rising sun consider themselves victims of its aggression and perceived the visit by officials to the Yasukuni Shrine as Tokyo attempts to rehabilitate itself in world war II.

Japanese Prime Minister himself does not think so. According to sources close to him, in conversations he has repeatedly stated that “Japan was forced into WWII” that this war in fact was not bad, but fair, with the aim of “the liberation of East Asian countries from imperialist oppression of the West.”

Abe’s supporters see him as a man, the bearing of concrete plans “the revision of the US imposed postwar order,” degrading Japan. Opponents consider that this ideology and the desire “to restore the independence on the international arena” as the threat of a slide into nationalism and remilitarise. While Abe does not cease to repeat: “Japanese-American Union is the main guarantor of the security of the country”.

Noteworthy reasoning of an expert in domestic and foreign policy, Professor Takashi Tachibana which is critical of the policy pursued by the Prime Minister. Japan may be able to use hosted on its territory U.S. nuclear weapon, the scientist believes, qualifies this by adding that the reason is likely to be the victims of a tragic set of circumstances. But the environment Minister, says Tachibana, and does wish to change a military Alliance with the United States. We are talking about introduction of provisions allowing the deployment of us nuclear weapons on the territory of Japan with the proviso that Tokyo will have the right to give orders about its use. The current policy of the government Abe reminds the Professor of the 30-ies of the last century, when a series of erroneous decisions of the government have led the country into war. Scientists warn that if the Constitution will be revised so that Japan got the right to “collective self-defence”, which the Prime Minister wishes so, it can draw her in any war that may trigger US.

In January of this year, Japanese Prime Minister promised the voters before the expiration of their tenure, i.e. until 2018, to achieve substantial progress in the Kuril issue. According to him, Tokyo hopes to fulfill a longtime desire of all Japanese people, “while healthy, the original inhabitants of the Islands”. Shinzo Abe outlined his position on this issue as follows: “To resolve the territorial dispute, a peace Treaty step by step, we will strengthen relationships in a wide range of fields such as economy, energy and culture. We will look for any opportunity to build a dialogue with Russia.” The first step in this direction was the establishment of the post of special representative for relations with Russia. On the appointment of the former Ambassador in Moscow Tikahito Harada. Japanese experts believe that this man will be able to establish a relationship, heavily tainted by participation in the anti-Russian sanctions and support of the Poroshenko regime in Ukraine. Although it is an open secret: that, and the other was done with the filing and under pressure from the “Washington regional Committee”.

However, at the meeting with Poroshenko, pledging that the duty “to initiate the discussion on Ukraine during the summit the Big seven” where the presiding Abe, the Japanese Prime Minister showed that he is not less interesting cooperation with Russia in the UN Security Council in response to North Korea’s nuclear tests and the opinion of Moscow on settlement of the middle East problem. And, of course, in the forefront is the notorious “Kuril issue”, which for Tokyo is much more important than “Ukrainian”.

Will the leader of Japan to negotiate with the Russian President about something specific? Hardly. But this is the case when the meeting was useful in itself and beneficial to both parties regardless of the outcome.
