The Association agreements of Georgia and Moldova with the EU entered into force.
From 1 July 2016 in full force to join the Association Agreements of Georgia and Moldova with the European Union.
This is stated in the press service of European Commission.
The Association agreement aims to deepen political and economic relations between the European bloc and the two countries. The document also provides for the establishment of a deep and comprehensive free trade area.
High representative of the European Union for foreign Affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini said that the Association Agreement will contribute to the gradual integration of Georgia with the EU single market.
“With the full entry into force of our Association Agreement, relations between the EU and Georgia are becoming wider and deeper. Look forward to further strengthening cooperation with a country that is still working on important reforms such as the rule of law”, – said Mogherini.
Recall that the European Union in June 2014 signed an Association agreement simultaneously with Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
