Created a device that allows you to capture the sounds of skin

The system transmits sounds in the form of vibrations on the back of a man.

Neuroscientist David Illman created a system of VEST (Versatile Extra-Sensory Transducer), which with 32 small motors transmits sounds vibrations on the back of a man.

According to the inventor, with the help of his vest no longer requires only one sense organ in order to catch the sounds. The system works due to the fact that the smartphone or tablet detects ambient sounds and transformerait them into a set of specific frequencies. Each band of the spectrum of these frequencies is launching one of 32 engines on the vest. After some amount of time (several practical exercises) the human brain subconsciously learns to interpret a series of oscillations as a particular sound or composition.

To date, the researcher has trained several deaf from birth people to perceive sounds and recognize words while using the vest. He hoped that in the future they will be able to recognize sentences and then completely restoring speech perception.

Neuroscientists hope that their discovery will help people in dozens of different professions to cope better with the heavy conditions. For example, pilots can view the read status of the aircraft via vibration, and the astronauts can literally follow the health indicators with the aid of wearable systems.
