Skoda has released the official name of the new car.
Official correction: the new SUV “Skoda”, who we first knew as Kodiak, actually called Kodiaq. However, in fact there are no errors, the model is really named in honour of kudyakov, that is the subspecies of brown bears from the island near the South coast of Alaska. It is believed that such have, um, intelligent vein, and generally peaceful.
Confirmation came from Skoda along with a couple of teasers. That strongly hides in the pictures, externally, should be similar to VisionS with the concept of the Geneva motor show, while the internals — the new VW Tiguan. However, the Czechs promise to 4.7 m overall length and 7 seats in the cabin.
In the engine range will include petrol three-pointers and four from 1.0 to 2.0 l and diesel engines volume of 1.6-2.0 liters — hotter versions will be all-wheel drive and 7-speed DSG (easier — with front-wheel drive and 6-speed manual transmission).
Kodiaq will most likely arrive in the fall at the Paris auto show. So, will hit the market somewhere in early 2017.
