Electric Audi sedan will travel without recharging for 500 kilometers.
Originally it was planned that the name of the A9 will receive a model that will compete with coupe Mercedes-Benz S-class and Bentley Continental GT. However, later in the Audi decided to call it a new electric car, which is in the line in approximately the same location as the A8.
The electric sedan will be built on the same platform that is used in the creation of the first crossover Audi electric — Q6 e-tron, whose debut is scheduled for 2018. Chetyrehdverki will get three engines: one for rotation of the front wheels and two for the rear.
To feed electric motors A9 e-tron will be powered from batteries with liquid cooling, capacity of which will amount to 95 kilowatt-hours. To charge the batteries located under the floor in the rear of the body, it will be possible as from the usual outlets, and the inductive method.

In addition, the electric sedan will be the first model of the German automaker, which will receive the Autonomous control system of the fourth level. The next A8 will have technology third level to fully transfer control of the electronics at speeds up to 60 kilometers per hour.
