A line of eco-friendly cars will enter the crossover, a sedan and a compact car.
The first model of the new electric collection of Audi, which will appear in 2018, will be mid-size crossover. A prototype of the SUV, designed to compete with Tesla Model X to debut in 2015 at the Frankfurt motor show. The concept car e-tron quattro is equipped with three electric motors (one located on the front axle and two on rear) with a total capacity of 435 horsepower (at sharp acceleration, the recoil is increased to 503 HP). The crossover is able to dial a “hundred” in 4.6 seconds, while its top speed is electronically limited to 210 kilometers per hour.
After the SUV Audi will release a premium electric sedan, the A9 e-tron, which will be able to compete for customers with the Tesla Model S. the Model will be built on the same platform as the crossover, and will be equipped with three electric motors. The motors will supply lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 95 kWh liquid cooled. Without recharging the sedan can travel up to 500 kilometers.
Finally, in 2020, Audi plans to produce a compact urban electric car with a cruising range of 350 to 450 kilometers. It is expected that it will be built on a universal platform MEB, which Volkswagen has developed a new family of their electric cars.
