Specialists of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that the orbit of Neptune discovered a bunch of Trojans – space bodies sharing the orbit of the planet.
The phenomenon is opened when using the telescope Pan-STARRS, which astronomers studied the orbit of Neptune.
NASA clarify that the study with the name of the PS1, was able to detect 4 Trojan with the code name L4. A large space object that moves freely around the planet, have sizes between 100 to 200 kilometres, forming a square with strongly rounded edges. In the course of previously classified research, as specified in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, was able to detect Trojans and L5 of larger size, and they are characterized by their instability. In contrast to L4, formed 1 billion years ago, the Trojans category L5 are young, their age is 5 million years.
Experts say that Neptune rejected from 10 to 18 degrees from its angle of inclination, whereby the Trojans change a bimodal distribution, and is becoming more unstable. No more detailed data on small objects, since the telescope allows you to explore the Trojans close, you need to send a special probe.
