The company ASRock has announced a partnership with Intel to create a new mini-computer with a straightforward name DeskMini. Its feature is the ability to install desktop processor with the standard (“boxed”) by ASUS, support upgrade RAM, drives and possibly the motherboard.

The motherboard is made in the form factor Mini-STX, equipped with socket LGA1151 for Skylake processors, two SO-DIMM slots (oriented vertically), SATA ports and other connectors. Casing perforated from several sides, so that the components inside will not overheat.

Typical “filling” will DeskMini ASRock Intel dual-core processor, a small amount of RAM (expandable) and a single drive. The manufacturer informs that inside you can install two 2.5-inch SSD or HDD. Likely to be available and the M. 2 slot, but only in top models.

Taiwan marketers emphasize that even the most ordinary Core i3-6100 is more powerful than the mobile Core i7-6500U. Moreover, if desired, a desktop CPU in DeskMini you can replace or upgrade the cooling system.
