The experts found another method of treatment of oncological diseases. At this time, biochemists have proved that ordinary aspirin can defeat blood cancer.
The discovery was made by biochemists from the Institute of Gladstone. According to them, salicylic acid is able to stop the development of cancer.
Experts explained that salicylic acid has properties to produce diflunisal. Together with this substance it inhibits two proteins responsible for the activity of the gene in the cells of the human body.
“Salicylic acid inhibits p300 and CBP, caused by inflammation by preventing cell damage,” explained the biochemist.
Along with this, it became known that several patients have already tested on itself action of salicylic acid. The results of clinical tests showed that the substance is safe for humans. Moreover, scientists noted that salicylic acid may help in fighting other types of cancer, and type II diabetes, Alzheimer’s and neurodegenerative diseases.
