Chinese archaeologists have discovered a fragment of skull, which probably belonged to the Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama).
The bone was hidden inside the Golden casket, the inside silver. They were kept inside a small copy of the stupa.
The researchers found the stupa, which is about a thousand years in a tomb underneath a Buddhist temple in Nanjing (Eastern China). The artifact with a height of 117 cm and a width of 45 was kept in a metal box, and that — in a stone chest. In 2015, Dutch scientists have found a mummy of a monk in the Buddhist statues of XI-XII centuries during computed tomography. According to the Buddhist Eric brain (Erik Bruijn), it belongs to the master Luzhuang, well-known representative of the school of Chan Buddhism.
